Enjoy and share our 2021 Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade Tribute video!

Stamford, CT: January 24, 2021 —

Due the Corona Virus Pandemic, and in consideration of the safety and well-being of our participants and residents of Stamford, the Irish-American Cultural Society of Stamford (IACSOS) regrettably announces the cancellation of the 26th annual Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Parade Chairman Michael Feighan announced the news to the IACSOS’s all-volunteer parade committee via a Zoom call on January 6, 2021. “It is in the best interest of public safety in our city that we cancel the Grand Marshal’s Dinner and Parade this year, “ Feighan said. “Of course, we look forward every year to celebrating our shared Irish traditions and heritage with all our neighbors in Fairfield County, but if even one participant’s life was negatively impacted by our holding our events, that would be one too many,” he said.

Because of the impact of Covid-19 on our community and world, in lieu of the Grand Marshal’s Dinner and Parade, the IACSOS invites everyone to “Put Your Irish On” and celebrate safely in their own way. The IACSOS will be hosting and promoting a “Parade of Giving” to benefit many worthwhile community organizations in Stamford up to and on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2021.

What’s more, the IACSOS will be assembling a video tribute to parades past for viewing by all by March 1, 2021. Visit our Website at http://www.stamfordstpatricksdayparade.com/ to view our tribute, contact us and donate. And please don’t forget to safely visit our past parade sponsors throughout the city. Bí go maith! (Be well!) And we will see you at the Parade in 2022!
